CORNELIUS, N.C. — Martinzing Cleaners recently announced the opening of its newest location in the Charlotte metropolitan area, Martinizing Cleaners of Cornelius.
The company is owned and operated by Rachel and Lane Marlowe. Rachel took over the family business from her late father, Randy Lambeth, in 2021, and this expansion marks her third store in the area.
Since 2007, the company says, Rachel’s family has been the face of the Martinizing brand in the northern Charlotte metro area. Rachel and Lane, both Troutman natives, also own stores in Huntersville and Mooresville, where their delivery routes already extended into Cornelius.
“We’re already very familiar with Cornelius and its residents,” says Rachel Marlowe. “From our philanthropy efforts with Davidson College to the lifelong friendships we’ve built growing up nearby, and the relationships we’ve developed through our business, we feel very at home here. Opening a store in Cornelius was the perfect opportunity for us to deepen our connections in the community, while also continuing to fortify our family’s legacy.”
The Marlowes’ new store acquisition was the latest expansion in the Clean Brands network via the Clean Exit program. The Clean Exit program, the company says, is a means for dry cleaning owners to simplify their exit strategies with the help of the Clean Brands franchise redevelopment team, led by Joe Hebeka. The team acquires existing businesses and then works to provide branding and appropriate systems and technology before matching ownership to a new Clean Brands-affiliated franchisee.
“We truly love what we do,” says Rachel Marlowe. “I’ve already embraced the opportunity to spend time at our new store and become familiar with its existing customers and staff. I believe that face-time is critical to building trust, and in this business, trust is everything. We’re as homegrown as it gets, and I want our Cornelius customers to feel safe knowing that they’re in good hands.”
